- Personal Data: We do not collect names, addresses, or phone numbers. If you contact us for support via email, we use your email address only to respond to your inquiry.
- Identifiers: Anonymous device-specific IDs are used for delivering push notifications (Daily Hukamnama) and for displaying advertisements via Google AdMob.
2. Permissions Explained
The following permissions are required for the App to provide its core features:
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS)
Used to send the Daily Hukamnama Sahib, Nanakshahi Calendar updates, and other spiritual notifications as configured in your settings.
Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK)
Necessary to maintain uninterrupted audio playback of the Sukhmani Sahib Path while you use other apps or when the screen is turned off.
Internet & Network Access
Required to fetch Daily Hukamnama data, Nanakshahi calendar details, and "Daily Updates" content from our secure servers.
3. Data Sources & Attributions
We are grateful to the community-driven platforms that make Gurbani accessible:
- BaniDB: The App utilizes BaniDB for structured Gurbani text, translations, and transliterations.
- SGPC: Official Hukamnama and related spiritual content are sourced with respect from public resources. Users are always encouraged to refer to the official SGPC website for primary sources.
4. Third-Party Integrations
The App uses industry-standard services for infrastructure and monetization:
- Google AdMob: Displays banner and interstitial ads to support the development and maintenance of the App.
- Firebase: Provides crash reporting (Crashlytics) and cloud messaging for reliable notification delivery.
5. Disclaimer & Accuracy
Content Origin: All Gurbani text, audio, and images are sourced from publicly available internet archives. We strive for absolute accuracy, but users should consult the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji for definitive precision.
Ownership: We do not claim ownership of the Gurbani content. If you represent an entity that holds rights to specific content and wish for its removal, please reach out to us.
Updates: The "Daily Updates" section acts as a curator of spiritual and historical information. We are not responsible for the external links or the uptime of third-party content.
6. User Control & Compliance
You have full control over the data usage within the App. You can opt-out of notifications and adjust display preferences directly in the Settings menu. This policy adheres to global privacy standards (GDPR/CCPA) by prioritizing user transparency.
